Red Hat Academy | RH124

As an APU student taking the System Administration and Networking module, I was given access to several courses from Red Hat Academy.
The course has been going smoothly so far, mainly because I already have some hands-on experience with Linux. Most of my projects have been deployed on VPS servers running Ubuntu, where I’ve handled things like firewall configuration, access permissions, package management, and other system setup tasks myself.
Still, I’m hoping to pick up new insights from RH124. I wouldn’t call myself a Linux expert yet — more of an amateur with real-world experience.
I’ll share another update after I get through a few more chapters. I’m currently on Chapter 3, and I’ll post a short overall review once I’ve completed the course.
UPD
I finished the course in about two weeks. Most of the material was fairly basic, which is expected for an entry-level system administration course. That said, some of the Vim commands and lessons around the /etc directory were interesting and a good refresher.
I usually rely on Nano when editing files on remote servers, but this course made me appreciate Vim a bit more. It’s clearly a powerful tool — I just need to spend more time getting comfortable with it.
Here’s the Credly badge for completing the course.
